AI, Digital (remote) Employees, 5G (eSIM, IoT), quantum/cloud computing, BIG data, Machine Learning, Metaverse, Green Tech. The biggest changes and opportunities are still ahead of us, and technology, innovations and digitalisation are one of the most important trends in our region and a driving force.

Why is the topic you’re speaking on so important right now?

This is a great time to invest and develop new aaded value services based on eSIM technology,  as the value of the global eSIM market is expected to increase from $4.7bn in 2023 to $16.3bn by 2027, according to a recent study by Juniper Research.

New generation eSIM and SIM based Mobile Identity solution with improved cryptographic capabilities enable users to give legally binding e-signatures and securely use any e-service. To date, the World Bank estimates that there are 1 billion people without official proof of identity worldwide. For the economically excluded, SIM and eSIM based Mobile Identity could help close the digital divide by providing a secure enough digital ID to open a bank account or open the company. This will offer the potential users globally from capital cities to rural areas the fully digitized experiences they’re looking for. The digital onboarding process (also referred to as electronic Know Your Customer or eKYC processes) could be performed entirely from a user’s own device.

Our company is a member of GSMA for several years and actively participating in MWC for last 10 years. We are witnessing an incredible and accelerating evolution of technology. I am convinced that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will cause an extraordinary transformation of digital services. We already see that AI is pushing the speed of innovation in a wide range of industries.

Fintech, and namely Mobile Financial Services, is an important topic right now because new solutions make financial services more accessible to people who did not have access to them before. Furthermore, financial services are necessary and present in most areas of our lives that is why clients expect even more comfort and convenience.

In the next 5 years – we will be even more dependent on connectivity – not just to communicate but also to do our work, to get educated, to stay healthy and get entertained. Therefore we need to make sure that citizens and businesses can rely on connectivity, and the our digital infrastructure is resilient under any circumstance

As the digital world is rapidly evolving due to the environment, DX(Digital Transformation) has become an essential part of our daily life surrounded by ICT. KT is also already committed to providing advanced services and strive to lead the DX market as new demands for communications have arisen.

Smart City is expected to solve various urban problems such as traffic congestion and energy shortage, and serve as a driving force for economic growth. In this regard, we are proud to share KT’s Smart City solutions and cases consist of network infrastructure, Big Data, integrated platform and more.

Attending M360 has always been an exciting experience for me as I get to discuss our challenges along with networking. I feel extra anew this time as KT will be hosting the first M360 APAC in Korea in September, and EURASIA is KT’s next focusing region for global business as well.

I believe the greatest impact will be technology that enables innovation and automation. There are a lot of technology out there, and innovation in different verticals. The winners will be the ones that have digitalised and automized their core, to be flexible, fast in go to market, and able to focus on the possibilities without legacy.

How to seize the untapped potential in the SMB segment. Digitalisation and automation are enabling a large segment of SMB customers, that has previously been underserved in most markets. We see a great focus and results on B2B in the Nordics, and are now enabling others in other markets to gain new revenue streams.

There have a lot of innovation and learnings from the Nordic market, that we yet have not seen in rest of Eurasia. Looking forward to have new connections and valuable conversations across markets.
