The number of IoT connections is set to triple between 2017 and 2025, reaching 1.3 Billion, and smart phone penetration is set to reach 78% by 2025, according to the Mobile Economy Report – Latin America and the Caribbean 2018. Successful businesses are embracing the latest technology trends to add value to their organisations and stay ahead of the competition.
Mobile connectivity is a key enabler of digital inclusion and economic and social development in the region; it is the primary way to access the internet and gives individuals access to crucial services including health, financial services, education and entrepreneurship. As Mobile Network Operators are poised to deploy 5G across the region, the pace of digital transformation, innovation, and connectivity is only set to grow further.
Mobile 360 – Latin America examined the technologies and government strategies driving digital transformation across Latin America. The event looked ahead to the technology of tomorrow: 5G, AI, Blockchain, and examined the impact they will have on the industry at a regional and global level. The event focused on how Latin America can embrace the latest innovations while improving and expanding the use of existing technologies to bring value to businesses and individuals in the region.
Mobile 360 – Latin America included a two-day thought-leadership conference with keynotes, panel discussions, case studies, startup pitches and more. In addition, regional players demonstrated their latest technologies in the Innovation Showcase. Key networking receptions on each allowed attendees to connect further with key clients and new prospects. The event also hosted several meetings and working groups presented by GSMA Latin America.
GSMA Latin America Working Groups and Meetings
GSMA Latin America presented a variety of workshops and meetings that provide regional stakeholders the opportunity to engage in GSMA activities and programmes, exchange information, receive training, learn best practices, and connect with fellow companies facing similar challenges.
Mobile 360 – Latin America convened over 1,500 decision makers from across the industry and governments in the region. This event allowed mobile network operators to connect with government & regulatory bodies, solutions vendors, mobile content creators, startups, and more to shine a light on the innovations that are intelligently connecting Latin America to a Better Future.
