GSMA Working Group Meetings

GSMA’s Operator-led Working Groups provide GSMA regional members the opportunity to get engaged in GSMA activities and programmes, exchange information, provide training, network as well as establishing regional industry positions.

Interested in participating? We strongly encourage operator members interested in participating in the Working Groups sessions to engage with each coordinator and stay tuned for the various GSMA Working Group meetings held throughout the year.

GSMA Latin America Working Group Meetings

Wholesale Agreements and Solutions LATAM Group (WASL)

This group brings together the entire community engaged in the international business of our members – wholesale market and roaming and value added services – to discuss the best technical and commercial practices and promote the growth of these services in Latin America. WASL also brings to the region the latest developments from the global WAS group and works with other GSMA groups worldwide, such as the Interoperability Data specifications and Settlement Group (IDSG) and Transferred Account Data (TAP).

Security & Fraud Working Group (SEGF)

The GSMA LA Security and Fraud working group aims to be the main channel of coordination and communication between the regional operator’s fraud and security teams. This group works to establish best practice and lessons learnt while sharing ideas and networking, for the benefit of the operators and the mobile industry as a whole.

Regulatory Working Group (REGU)

This group is focused on the debate and analysis on regulatory issues and events that are of relevance in Latin America such as regulatory reforms, infrastructure deployment barriers, security and personal data, spectrum policy and roadmaps, 5G and the future of communications, and others. In addition, it promotes the dialogue with international organizations, inter-governmental and wider ecosystem players. The group is an important source of learning and information sharing for mobile.

Technology and Terminals (TECT)

This interest group’s mission is to provide support to members of GSMA LA regarding technical issues in the implementation of GSM networks and the evolution of these networks to support next generation services, such as 5G , Mobile IoT and IMS Transport, among others. The TECT is also the link to the GSMA Global Working Groups to establish and maintain technical information network status and consultation services for member operators, promoting the exchange of experiences in the development of GSM networks and services, events and training programs promoted by GSMA. The interest group leaders help to identify and tackle the common technical and commercial needs in the area of terminal operators in Latam and transmit those needs to the market leading providers.
