Matt Bohan is a Senior Program Officer with the Financial Services for the Poor team at The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle, Washington. His work over the past 7 years at the foundation has focused on financial services infrastructure aspects of financial inclusion, including the Level One Project (http://leveloneproject.org), the open source Mojaloop software (http://Mojaloop.io) and the Mojaloop API.
Prior to his time at the Foundation, Matt spent several years consulting with Microsoft, AT&T Mobility and multiple banks and healthcare firms as well as 10+ years working directly in the health insurance industry. His focus was on IT, product management, program and project management, process improvement, financial and operational performance improvement, healthcare management and telecom management. He has lead work with several systems integration projects including a healthcare transaction clearinghouse, a healthcare provider information management system, and a suite of applications to model, plan and control setup of radio access network for a large US based Telco.
Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Transylvania University and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health.
