Erhun Baş graduated from Department of International Relations of the Middle East Technical University in 1997 as the first in his class. Following his academic studies in Bologna and Washington, D.C. under a Fulbright scholarship, he earned his Master’s degree on international politics and international economy from Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of Johns Hopkins University in 1999. He worked at the Secretariat of NATO Parliamentary Assemby in Brussels in 2000 and then spent 7.5 years at the Secretariat-General for European Union Affairs as a Junior and Senior European Union Expert. He also holds an Executive MBA degree from Bilkent University in Ankara. Following his research studies at London School of Economics under British Chevening fellowship, he joined Ericsson in early 2009. Erhun Baş was the Head of Government and Industry Relations – Region Middle East & Africa at Ericsson, when he became the founding Secretary-General of the Mobile Telecommunication Operators Association of Turkey (“m-TOD” by Turkcell, Turk Telekom and Vodafone). m-TOD was established through the initiatives of 3 licensed Turkish mobile network operators, namely, Turkcell, Türk Telekom and Vodafone Turkey. In addition his professional roles, he also chaired the ICT Working Group of the International Investors Association (“YASED”), besides other NGO capacities.
Erhun Baş is married with one child. He speaks English, French and Italian.
