19 March 2020, London: today the GSMA announced that the Mobile 360 Middle East and North Africa (MENA) conference scheduled for June 9 – 10, 2020 in Cairo, Egypt is cancelled due to the coronavirus disease and related circumstances beyond the control of GSMA and associated companies. The GSMA believes that, cancelling this event, in line with our process on cancelling MWC Barcelona 2020, was the only option, as has been made clear by subsequent global events.
We are proud of the GSMA Mobile 360 Series and the fact that it brings the most important industry discussions directly to various geographies to cultivate regional engagement and advance the impact of mobile technology. We sincerely hope that you will consider attending an alternate event a list of which can be found here https://www.mobile360series.com/ and look forward to seeing you next year.
The GSMA will continue to monitor this situation and evaluate upcoming events against this global situation. We believe a key factor in the success of our events has been convening the industry, governments, ministers, policymakers, operators and industry leaders across the broader ecosystem through a series of events, held all over the world. At this time, we know, however, that large gatherings with international audiences create increased risk. Our sincere thoughts remain with those affected around the world in these trying times.
