Javier Huerta leads Cullen International’s digital economy regulatory intelligence service for Europe. He focuses on European Union initiatives shaping the digital economy, including regulation targeting online platforms and other emerging technologies such as IoT and AI. In particular, he has been following closely data regulation in Europe, including the General Data Protection Regulation and the Free Flow of (non-personal) Data Regulation. Before joining Cullen International in 2014, Javier worked at the European Commission as legal adviser on copyright, e-commerce and other topics related to online services. He graduated in law in Spain and took an LLM in European Law in Belgium. He is a qualified lawyer in Spain.
