Anne is a Dutch lawyer specialised in European Law at Maastricht University and Université Montesquieu Bordeaux IV. Currently employed by Rio Tinto as its European Data Privacy Manager, she worked as Accenture’s EMEA data privacy counsel in London between 2005 and 2010 before starting a successful privacy consultancy in 2010 which still exists in the Netherlands, where she is based, today.
Her area of expertise is setting up large company –wide data privacy programmes with a global governance framework and providing advice on a wide variety of “privacy in the workplace” activities. In addition she delivers frequent data privacy workshops and training &awareness sessions and is involved with significant outsourcing and divestment contracts ensuring the relevant data privacy angles have been considered and implemented.
She has written various articles for data privacy periodicals in the UK, has chaired privacy conferences and spoken at the annual Cambridge Data Privacy Conference and continues to provide regular data privacy training, sharing her experience of implementing a GDPR compliant data privacy programme for one of the world’s leading mining companies.
